Default 2008 FXDSE2 start issue.

Hi all. I'm new here and originally posted this in another section but then realized it should probably go here... Anyhow I have a problem that hopefully someone can help me with. I recently inherited a 2008 FXDSE2 that had sat outside for about a year. When this was finally left to me I put a new battery in it and rode it home about 100 miles roughly without any issues. It was a dream to ride. I then rode it about 15 miles and almost made it back when about a 1/4 mile up the road it sputtered and died. It started back up and ran maybe a little rough but I was able to get home. From then on it is real hard to start and when it does it wont idle and dies. If I try starting it again a couple times it usually dies and everything shuts off like the battery got disconnected. If I let it sit a while or disconnect the battery and re-connect it it goes back to the hard start issue. I've drained the fuel and put fresh fuel in replaced the fuel filter and pressure regulator and put new spark plugs in it. Nothing seems to have helped or made it worse. The bike has just under 11k miles on it and I'm not sure the history on it before the previous owner who was given the bike used and didn't end up riding it much due to health issues. The built in code system hasn't thrown any codes. I am fairly mechanically inclined but I don't have any money to take it to a shop for diagnosis and don't want to keep throwing money at things that don't fix the problem. Hopefully someone will have seen these exact issues and have a better idea of what it is. I appreciate any help and I know the previous owner just wants me to ride as do I. Thanks.

start with the basics, intake/exhaust leaks, new plugs/wires. maybe pop the timing cover off and check the tensioners and whether you have non-stock cams in it. if so, perhaps the tune isn't any good. several tables in the ECM control the startup and idle, and it can be a little time consuming to get it right when cams have been swapped.

I put new plugs in it already, Spark is getting to the engine fine. As far as I remember it is all stock from the Harley custom shop and it ran fine for about a hundred miles before crapping out. Maybe the injectors are clogged? For the year it sat the tank was almost empty but not completely and I poured in 3 gallons of fresh on top of the little bit of old gas. Can they be easily cleaned or should I go with new ones? I am really hoping it isn't the ECM because I don't have the money for even a used one. It really sucks getting such a cool gift with a lot of sentimental value that I can't use.

Start with the basics, not by spending money on parts or guessing.

Simple cheap stuff first.

Have the battery load tested, an auto parts store will do this for free.

Clean all battery cable connection points, don`t just check for tightness, disassemble and clean.

Once battery is reinstalled, perform a charging system check.

Thanks ,
The battery is brand new and the charging system is fine. Yes the cables are tight. I made sure they were since I had just put a new battery in. My next step (which I’m not looking forward to) is to pull the tank so I can get the induction module off and give the injectors and stuff a good cleaning. If that doesn’t work I guess it’s a trip to the shop since any deeper diagnosis needs tools I don’t have. So if anyone has any simpler suggestions I’m all ears.

Default Maybe a short video of trying to start will help

Here’s a short video of an attempt to start.
first crank I don’t touch the throttle
second crank I can keep it sorta running with the throttle
next couple cranks I don’t touch the throttle again.

bike history
bike ran was started and let idle a couple times a week for a year. Then the bike sat for a year. I put a new battery in it and new gas and it rode fine for about a hundred miles. Bike started to crap out about a block from my house. Got it home cleaned the air filter, installed new plugs new fuel filter and pressure regulator. Bike still won’t run. I even tried giving it a wash (stranger things have happened).
