Hi, am doing a leak down test and am hearing air from the breather tubes. My compression test is 175 psi. What does it mean if air is leaking pass my breather tube?
My bike is burning 1 quart of oil every 250 miles.
Leak down from cylinder 2 Air coming from this breather hoses
How many miles on the motor? Which piston in the last image is from cylinder #2; the one on the right? Air from the breather tube would indicate air is leaking past the rings into the crank case and out the breathers. The first image appears to show that the leakage is holding at about 10% on cylinder #2 which is within an acceptable range; however I can't get the video in the last attachment to run so I can't see what the gauges are doing during testing so I don't know what is going on with the other cylinder.
I think the picture above of the OP holding the breather tube is a screenshot of a video he took, but no link or actual video for us........
That is correct. There is a series of images of the guages which I assumed were progressive while testing. Apparently, I mistook that series of photos as a video of the testing process but missing a link to display.
