While there may be some benefits to swapping to any aftermarket ECU or having tuning done to a stock setup, I'd think the T-Max would really shine if you did, or plan to do more work down the road. If you're keeping it stock, then I'd say keep the factory ECU. If there are things you WANT to change/adjust with the way it runs, then possibly look at a tuner or T-Max. That said, I'm a fan of T-Max, I'm just not sure whether you'd be happy with the bang-for-the-buck if keeping it stock. IMHO.

$1K for a Thundermax. Fuel mileage will drop but bike will run cooler. It will support future power upgrades but you would need the right map. I have a Thundermax on all 3 of my M8's including a Zippers 128 road king and all the bikes run great.
