Hello,
Does anybody know the part number for a cylinder base gasket SE 110? My engine has a 2001 TC88 case, but someone has installed SE 110 kit and I am having trouble locating the gaskets. The gasket that I removed is a flat layered type with a built in o-ring. Thanks for your help.
I don't think there was a 110 kit that used base gaskets. I believe the SE kits all came with the standard square style cylinder base o-ring. See page 4 in the link below. The motor case needed to be bored out for the larger 110 cylinders. And HD expected that you will also machine the case for the factory or SE 110" cylinder base square o-ring.
Also measure the cylinder length from the base gasket surface to the head gasket surface. The original cylinder length should be 3.937" if they're HD cylinders.
What would be best is take a couple of good pictures of the gasket and post them up. Also measure the thickness of the base gasket.
the 110 kits use the base o oring not a gasket.......you might want to take some more measurements and make sure that you dont have something like a 117.

Also you measure the cylinder where I have drawn the two arrows. Should be 4.937". I stated 3.937" above, but the length is 4.937".
You are correct. I measure just a hair shy of 5. Thanks for the info. Not sure why there wasnt an oring on the teardown, but I do like the idea of the flat gasket better.
Take a photo of the case where the cylinder sits. Take the photo looking down at the opening for the cylinder. They may not have machined the case for the square o-ring. Here's why I asked the length of the cylinder. If the cylinder is the OEM length of 4.937", it's designed to NOT USE a base gasket. The base gasket will raise the cylinder upward obviously. What that does is raise the top of the cylinder away from the top of the piston, reducing the compression.
This is what the case looks like when machined for a factory o-ring.
Thanks for all the info you have provided. My case does in fact have that machined step down for an oring to be placed. What you are saying makes sense. I can see why it wouldnt make sense to give away free HP by using a flat gasket and lowering the compression.
You should measure with precision measuring tools, the case bore and o-ring grove.
You have a modified Twin Cam motor, so you need to know what needs to be looked at, measured, and determine if they setup the motor correctly. You need to measure and set the deck height once you determine what cylinder sealing method you'll use. Set the deck height with new pistons if you plan to replace the piston in there now.
