I'm a fly boy and currently basking in the London heatwave while it's pouring rain back home. Fly back Wed .... 535kts...with 110 on the nose...but can't rush it any better.
Happy Memorial Day.
Well guys, I removed air cleaner and both small breather hoses from air filter. I started and idled bike and absolutely zero pulsating or air emitting from either breather bolt holes. Both sides. Both bolts internally clean and unobstructed. Even removed both breather bolts completely and same ditto effect. Nothing pulsating out of either bolt hole. Switched off engine and still same rush of air when removing oil cap. I can look upstream now to rocker boxes and breathers but isn't it unusual to have both cylinders doing same?
What else might it possibly be aside from rocker breathers, before I start lifting tank to access rocker covers?
Thanks all.
I can't think of anything but something wrong with #'s 34 or 35.
Seems strange both would fail together, but maybe they didn't, maybe one hardened and failed, then you started noticing the pressure when removing the dipstick after the second failed.
Maybe someone else saw this before.
Many thanks.
ill listen out on the forum before I tear into it.
Indeed bizzare both cylinders similar.
I meant to fire up my other twin cam, pull the air cleaner at idle and compare.
appreciate your help
Jim
So I held a smoking incense stick near the cap and after shutting down and unscrewing oil cap, the smoke from the stick was sucked into the case immediately. So its a vacuum in case and not pressure. What gives now?
