You can go anywhere on new slip-ons from 350 to 700 or more. Depends on mfg and the technology. HD SE touring mufflers will cost you 400+ with the end caps.
Slip-on should take no more than an hour to convert. Pretty simple. You need to keep in mind that you may not be finished with just slip-ons. Fuel management adjustments maybe needed, either to your FI system or carb. More than likely you will also need to upgrade your intake by going to a hi performance air cleaner.
You could be looking at a grand or more depending on what type of upgrades you are looking to do.
Go online to say JPcycles.com and look through there offerings on slip-ons to get a reference point.
You might also want to keep an eye on the sellers sites, deals can be had on a new/used pair.
Loosen the clamps at the intake to the mufflers, remove the mounting bolts at the rear of mufflers. Probably have to wiggle the mufflers wile sliding them off. It is that simple. You may want to use a little anti seize on the new inlets, this will help on assembly and if you ever have to remove in the future. Good luck.
Get the Rush Slip ons. They are in the $275 price range or so depending where you buy them. I have the 2.25 baffles. They sound EXCELLENT and the butt dyno talks to ya a little.
Well worth it. You get to keep the stock header pipes which in reality are very good.
