Default Stuck Evo Lifter Block

I have a '91 Ultra Classic that has a bad lifter. I want to change all the lifters. I've got new HD lifters and have pulled the engine down to the lifter blocks. I cannot get them out. Is there a puller for this?
I am trying not to open the cam cover unless I see damage to the cam when I get that far.
Someone built the snot out of this thing and I'm not sure I'll leave it this way, but I just want to replace the lifters for now. It's got:
Woods W8 cam,
10:1 Wiseco pistons,
Baisley Pro Street Heads,
89" S&S Stroker kit
25,000 miles on the engine
I have a '99 RK and a '56 Panhead I've done a lot of work on, but this is my first Evo and I don't want to screw this up.
This is great forum that has helped me many many times, but I can't seem to find an answer to this one, so I thought I'd ask.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

This is my first forum and I think I posted this in the wrong place for questions. Sorry!

The lifters come out of the bottom of the lifter blocks. Pull the lifter blocks up & the lifters should drop down.

Your post reads as if the "lifter blocks" are stuck....I am sure you mean you have not tried to remove them....yet. Like above....take the screws out of the lifter blocks and pull them out.

I finally got it! The lifter blocks themselves were actually stuck to the case so tight it was like epoxy. Turns out I wasn't far off.
I just had to apply a little more pressure, as in use my larger deadblow hammer. When they both finally popped, and I mean "popped", they came right apart with a bang.
Someone used the old permatex type sealant along with the gaskets, and the case/lifter block was damn near welded together. I was just over cautious, but I'd rather that than buy new parts.
Once I got the lifter blocks loose, the wire trick held the lifters in the block and whole ***'y tilted right out.
Now the bad news. The inside lifter has lost all the trunnion bearings and flatted itself pretty good. It's ruined. The cam shows some wear on that lobe as well. Looks like some rework coming there too.
I have 4 new lifters and now I'll buy a cam too.
Man, the ongoing education.......

Thanks for all the help. Like I said before, this forum is great.

So...I did read it right. Your lifter blocks were stuck. When you go to put all that back in, lifter block alignment pins are recommended. Most folks just screw them back down, but the alignment pins can be had off e-bay for just a few bucks. They center the block over the cam lobe.

I've got a set of alignment tools for the tappet blocks. A friend had a set from a job he had done.
Thanks for all the help, folks!
