Default Engine guard installation question

Hi all,

I am brand new to owning a bike and want to install an engine guard on my 2010 Sportster XL883L Low. The directions state to remove the two electrical connections from the back of the horn. Can't I just remove the screws and washers that attach the horn bracket to the downtubes? What is the purpose of removing the electrical connections?

Thank you,
Danielle

It is so you can completly remove the horn during installation. That way it won't be hanging by the wire and possibly be damaged. It is very easy to remove the connections.
