Need some advice; 2007 Fatboy Stage 1. I going to install Andrews 48H cams. Bike only has 3,995 miles on it, do I really need new cam bearings?
Also, bike has Terry componets TV3 fuel management system, can I stay with this or I am thinking of taking it out and replacing with TTS Mastertune. Any advice would be appriciated.
As far as the bearings are concerned you don't have to change them but you have it opened....The B168 bearing by Torrington or the SE bearing is much better bearing...if you prut them side by side you will see.
Good cam choice. Not necessary to change inner cam bearings but the B168s are an upgrade and cheap; while the cam chest is open mght as well. Auto Zone has a tool loaner/rental program and you can get a universal blind hole puller there if they have the right size collet. You can use removed camshaft to install the new bearings. Put them in the freezer the night before, lube the cases and tap them in.
The TTS Mastertune is probably the state of the art fuel management system for the TC right now; changing would be a good move.
