need help with lifter noise? sportster
A friend has a sportster and has a problem. Any advise would be welcome. He wanted to change the cam cover from a black one to a chrome one. He took the cover off and the cams came out. He retimed it and put them back in but when he started it it had a noise in the front cyclnder which sounds like a lifter. He put in new lifters but still has same noise. Tried preloading the lifters same noise. It starts good so dont think timing is off. Checked the rods and they seam tight. There is no evedence of the pistons hitting anything. Only other thing is back exast gets hotter than front. Any suggestion? Thanks
