Air filter cleaning
I have what I believe is a Stage 1 SE air filter. It is round and has the bar and shield stamped on it. I've heard it is washable. Does anyone know the proper procedure for cleaning these filters ?? Thanks

If the filter media is red, it is a K&N that we make for Harley. If it is white, you will have to call the Harley dealer to get the exact cleaner needed; and on those (they also say do not oil), they don't use any oil

If it is a K&N-type filter (as described above), most auto parts store carry a K&N Filter Recharger Kit... with everything you need to clean, then re-oil the filter. I've also seen some "do it yourself with household supplies" instructions out there. I've always used the K&N kit though.
