I inherited an 06 Harley Ultra Classic that was serviced, filled with fuel, and parked under a carport about 2 1/2 years ago near Houston, it has not been started or ridden since. Are there any special things I should do, other than a new battery, before hitting the start button?
Well, if you dont know if the fuel was treated Id drain it.. refill.. not sure how you could get the FI lines flushed though.. you may need to pull the plugs and turn it over until its cleaned out.. also, I personally, would squirt some engine oil in each chamber.. maybe a teaspoon.. thru the plug holes.. I believe you would need to ground the plugs if you turn it over with plugs removed or else risk damage to ignition..
I could be wrong about all of the above but since no one weighed in....
Houston is an extremely humid environment.. I would strongly urge you to dump some oil in each plug hole.
