ok i have a 1979 shovelhead 1340 fatbob,i took pushrods out ,removed hydraulic lifters,took the lifters apart cleaned them out no oil,now i have dry lifters..pushrods back in turned them to bottom out then back 1 1/2 turns.....my ? is why do i still have valve ticking?do under stand it?did i do it wrong?wtf....need help

Your oil galleys could be clogged.. not cool. I would verify they pumped up before I went forward with solid lifters.
If they dont pump up.. Im not sure how to deal with the oil passages cept to try some engine cleaner..
If you put solids in, and you dont have lubrication, again, not cool.
Im assuming your 1.5 turns is the correct spec of course.. and you were sure they bottomed.. Did you check for wear on the lifters?? Youd have to mic them I would assume...
And I do not think you need a different cam to go solid.. Just be prepared to possibly adjust them often.
