Default "Hard start" question

2005 Ultra with the original 88" engine. 61,000 miles. Usually runs like a top. Just started having "start problems" which replicates flooded carb. (but this is fuel injected). Battery strong. Turns over well, but doesn't catch. Takes 3-4 tries at holding starter.

Once it catches and runs, it is fine.

Fuel filter maybe? Or something more serious? Your thoughts are appreciated.

I would try the fuel filter. Changed mine at 35000. Also, might try new spark plugs gapped at 40 thousandths. Make sure air filter is not overly dirty as well.

So I took it to dealer where they changed sensors, air filter, spark plugs, reset the ECM to factory spec's then re-downloaded the SERT, dyno'd the bike, and told me they had fixed the problem. Brought it home yesterday. Went to ride today -- and viola...same ol' problem with hard start. Seriously?! It is as if it is an old carb'd version (it isn't) as it turns over and doesn't "catch" until I crank on the throttle. Supposedly the fuel filter isn't an issue as fuel pressure from the tank is fine.

Thoughts...?

Clean the IAC would be first on my list of things. May be hanging up.

I'm not quite sure of the abbreviation of "IAC," though I am sure those more mechanically inclined should know. Thanks in advance, and I'll pass it along.
