Two or three times this week I ended up letting my bike run longer than usual while I load up and get my coat and chaps on, and as I pull out I hear a noise coming from what I think is the front left part of the motor. It sits on the jiffy stand when running and I would guess it may have taken more than five minutes for me to pull out.
The noise is not loud, in fact I first thought I might have a little tree branch stuck under the frame. Its not harsh grating, its more of a little muffeled squeal type noise and it goes away in about a minute or so. Could it just be if it sits leaning over that long it just doesn't oil well until it gets level?? Oil pressure when runing is about 34. Didn't think to look today before I left the house what is was at idle, but at idle after riding its close to 10......any ideas??
Thanks
I don't know what the noise is but pretty sure that extended warm up time and being on the jiffy stand is not causing the noise; start looking for something else. Your oil pressure is normal.
Thanks for the reply.......the odd thing is that I don't get the noise if I start it up and just go. Compensator is about two years old, wonder if its about to croak
