Default Final 103" Engine Build Results

I finally got the break-in over with and took the bike for the final baseline yesterday. The build exceed my expectations from Bowling Green Harley Davidson, KY.

The build specs are as follows:

2011 SG 103" with SE stage 4 MVA racing heads, 10.5:1 SE positions, HPI 55mms throttle body, T-Man 625 cams, H-Beam rods, welded flywheel and balanced crank, Timken bearings all from T-Man, Roland Sands turbine breather, Fuel Moto Jackpot 2-1-2 head pipe and 4" jackpot exhaust tuned with Dyno Jet PV-1. Variable Pressure Clutch.......

And the results are in....I"M STOKED!!!

Nice numbers but the tuner still has some work to do; I would not be happy with the curve but if you are happy, that's all that matters.

That .625 is a torque-maker, or at least from we've seen, and below 3700 rpms it does not seem to be doing what it normally does.
Sure has a good hp whip about it.........
I agree with djl that your tuner has a bit more work to do for you.

Question

What should I tell the Tech? It was tuned at the Harley Davidson shop that built the motor with no warranty in the picture. I had some concern with the "joggle" or Peaks and valley's at the beginning of the curve. I also was told that he tunes with a 4th gear pull. Any advice would be great.

i dont know but too much up and down on that torque curve, even higher up. that usually means fuel not correctly tweaked throught the rpm range.

what should you do? Be happy with those nice numbers. AND go find an indy tuner who will do it right and give you nice smooth curve.... and probably - even better numbers!

I see this story over and over again. No need to tel the tech anything. Letting the dealer tech tune the motor was not a good idea; you shoud be done with them. As a general rule, the techs that tune at a dealership just aren't qualified to the level most independent tuners are. Please note that I said "as a general rule" and I acknowledge that there are exceptions to every rule.

Find a tuner with a rep in your general area and let him have a crack at the tune.

This is what I'm hearing. My buddy had his 110 CVO built at the same dealer and is having the same issues. At 3000 rpm we both get flutter. My bike needs to be 3500+ to get the power. I feel like I'm riding a crotch rocket..... The T-Man 625 cams should come in much sooner. The dealer is blaming it all on the DynoJet PV-1 tuner, which I like very much. They all want to sell you HD. Any suggestions for a Indy Dyno near KY???? AKA PISSED At this KY HD dealership.

A dealership in the State of Kentucky that does know how to tune, is Bowling Green HD, Bowling Green, KY. Jeremy is the young man's name that has the talent to do so.
We've seen several of our clients use them when near that area, and he produces outstanding results, time after time.
If willing to travel over to Matoon, Ill, Jim Kennedy of Paradise Performance ("stroker jlk" on several of these message boards) he can put a world-class tune on that also.
If you land at either one, tell them we sent you.
