If you have the $$$, there are options for "corrected geometry" rockers for those hi-lift cams, which BTW, most of us don't need for reliable and strong street or touring motor. JMHO.

I appreciate your honest opinion as I would like to hear from others as well. I really like my bike, and the powerhouse. I will post pictures soon as the updated build is complete. The question I have is what do I need to do?
1. change the cams to quiet it down?
2. different lifters, and rockers to quiet it down?
3. what changes could be made without sacrificing performance, and longevity?
Don`t really want to go the Turbo route.
I know when you have a top end rattling, something isn`t right whether it is from the Indy, or a personal build. I know something isn`t right from my other experiences, and that would involve race car engines.
This 120R was in the bike when I bought it off the showroom floor, and I know it has potential for destruction, and want to keep that from happening.
Any advice will be well perused through. Thx

Sounds like you need a cm that doesn't necessitate roller rockers and check your valve train geometry. Plenty of good lifters to chose from as well.

Do you want more power from the bike? Or a little less with greatly added reliability?

One thing is FOR CERTAIN... remove the SE lifters yesterday and thrown them in the trash. I would recommend replacing them with the S&S premiums. Pricey lifters, but very good ones at that.

After that one upgrade it will depend. Myself? I am going to change the valve springs to a lighter spring and swap cams to move things a bit left. Might try GMR's new 120r camset.

Stock that engine is about 10.3:1 compression and with the 266s is has around 175 CCP.

Wurk Truk, if I made the changes suggested, where do you think the HP and TQ would be, and would the power come on lower? Currently have the Boarzilla 2 into 1, and Dynoed by SGS in Daytona with PC5 at 128 square. Do you have a link to the suggested cam, and lifters?
Just looked at the S&S .625 geared cam and premium lifters around 1100.00 would you got this way? GMR`s website is under construction. Also will either of these cam companys suggest perhaps a spring to change to?

Most folks run a TMan 662-2 There is no real reason to go gear, in fact, chain drive cams are more forgiving. 625s might be nice... need to see if anyone has tuned one.

Having a 124" being built right now I chose longevity over max potential. Going with the 585 cam to mellow things out along with 10.5-1 With any luck this should last a long time. Builder says I should be around 130/130 with this motor.

John Deere engine builders are quite big on rollers. The serious guys report documented increases on the dyno playing with ratios. Maybe they will catch on with Harleys too.
