Speaking of questioning things and exploring options . . . How many degrees would be advanced or retarded on an S&S gear drive by installing it one tooth ahead or behind?

The reality is that with the twin cam motor and a chain drive setup you can only advance or retard both cams, the front may already be on and the rear not etc. What I will add is with the amount of aftermarket cams available you should never have the need to change the degree of a cam. If you are doing it because you may build bigger later than you are probably comprising the present and the future build.
