I'm torn between andrews ev23, ev3, and ev27.
I ride a 93 dyna wide glide mods are high flow breather/filter
V&H shorts shots staggered.
I'm looking for a mild cam I ride a lot of curvy roads and hills 20-40mph when cruising
And for work I ride interstate 80mph
From what I understand the ev3 is for lighter bikes so kinda curious as to how the ev3 would compare to the low end and mid range torque compared to the 23 and 27.
Since my bike isn't all that heavy
The 3 and 27 are very close.
Either way, they both need a bit more compression to show off, and a somple cylinder head re-surface would do it.
IF, you are going to a "cam only" upgrade, a Crane 300 is a great choice.

Scott is way more knowledgeable than me but I gotta chime in and say I really agree with him about the Crane 300. I found that to be about a perfect cam for a stock compression Evo motor. I put 3 cams in Evo motors and was much happier with the Crane 300 than the others.

I've used both the EV-3 and EV-27 in stock motors (mostly Dyna's). The EV-27 is a very good cam, lots of low end torque and improves the entire power band. The EV-3 is also a good cam but it's a little softer on the bottom end and gets real strong as the revs come up. It makes great mid range and top end power. Overall I like the EV-27 better, and think it's a good match for your riding style.
I ran the EV27 in my 1988 FXRT with the S&S super E and manifold, SE ignition module, Python staggered duals. It ran like snot. I surprised a lot of people with 88, 96 and 103 engines. Low end was good but when you hit 3000 rpms it pulled like a freight train. I liked it so much I put an Andews 57H in my 103 because the timing and duration are so close between the two.
