Default lifter bleed down question

So I bent a valve when I overtightened my pushrods so I am waiting for one to arrive.

I changed out my 37 cams to 26s. Everything done for the cam swap.

Bent exhaust valve is on front head which is removed right now.

I brought rear piston to tdc and cam to base circle. Installed a set of new stock pushrods.

It has been several hours and the exhaust pushrod is not spinning freely...the intake rod is ok.

If I get home in the AM from work and it does not spin, what is that telling me? Bad lifter?

Hi,

Is the rocker support plate on flat? If still no good when get home i would loosen rocker support plate and re-torque making sure its done as per spec, 1/4 turn at a time in correct pattern and do it over 30min or so as it allows lifter to slowly compress

Thanks

Just to be clear, it is TDC Compression, not TDC Intake when the intake and exhaust valves are open. A lot of people use "TDC" as being in the right spot but there are two "TDCs".

You said you were on the cam base circle, but usually you cannot visually see that, so you must find TDC Compression.

Put finger over sparkplug hole and rotate wheel till pressure blows out. Looked in head and felt top of piston with a screwdriver.
Both lifters were at lowest setting.

I bent the valve when I tried adjusting my pushrods off the bottom...had them too tight trying to get rid of some ticking.

Exhaust rod is still tight.

Will look into it after I have done a few errands.

Exhaust valve was being pushed open.

backed off support plate bolts and will double check TDC when I get back and try again.

These are non-adjustables I'm putting in.

Intake and exhaust pushrods are different lengths. Make sure you have the proper pushrod in the proper hole.

Everything is right there.

Loosened support plate bolts, and made sure I was at TDC and lifters at lowest...torqued everything down and rods spin now.

Not my first time adjusting them...just rushing through it I guess.

Thanks for everyone's input.
