Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
I know it has been discussed here quite a bit and I have done quite a bit of research before asking the questions I am going to ask so here goes. I have a fuel injected 2006 Street glide always ride two up with gear and want to do the following mods myself.
1. Upgrade to the hydraulic tensioners.
2. Install a S&S 509 cam.
3. Install a Vance and Hines Pro Pipe.
4. Install a Power Vision tuner.
My question is the list of parts necessary for the cam chest upgrade. The lists I have found on here don't match what is currently offered by HD. Is there a more current list as apparently some of the numbers have changed?
Is the oil pump upgrade worth the money or can I use my existing oil pump?
Harley offers a kit that uses a old style chain it's different from there normal system call up fuel moto I believe they offer a complete kit using all Harley parts so u will have exactly what the newer style 103s have..
Save the money on the pump/plate as yours is absolutely fine.
Install a set of Cyco tensioner shoes, and let-r-rip.
We have all in stock to facilitate an easy install.

In fact it will make ur cam swap easier as the new style kit offers a drop in cams very simple as the screaming Eagle kit u need a press... And as I said the parts are all stock hd parts nothing aftermarket... The screaming Eagle kit is different than what the Normal 103s use
