Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Installed a set of SE255's in my '07 today. After, I cranked it up, seems to run fine, and sounds good. However, it's blowing oil out of the cam chest at the rear, between the top corner bolt, and the one below it. I properly torqued, and according to sequence. A new gasket was used, and surfaces clean.
When I say it's blowing oil, I mean it's blowing it back to the transmission. And this is just sitting on the jack. When I shut the engine off, I can hear the air intake thru that leak as she dies.
I used adjustable pushrods also. I didn't separate the oil pump from the cam plate, but I did replace the o-ring. Oil pressure reads good on the gauge. Upon starting it up, I hear no abnormalities, except that pressurized oil leak. Any ideas?

Never heard of this scenario before.
It certainly needs to come apart, and put and eyeball on what is apparantly holding the cover away from the cases.
