my bike has adjustable pushrods (they were with the bike when I bought it) anyway I was going up the road today about 60 or so and suddenly I was loosing some power, along with a bad rattle from the front, you know from the title what was wrong.....pushrod nut had backed off, luckily I carry tools. I let it cool some and while I was waiting 3 people stopped to see if I was ok, the best part of living in Nebraska,, I got it in 5th and rolled it till i got to the low spot and readjusted and tightened the hell out of it. If I have to get into the top again i believe i will put factory solids in. Just wanted to let you know Spanners has been saying this can hppen and I am proof it can.
As i am setting along the road my first thought was spanners has been railing on this for awhile and now here I am...WTH, oh and kind of on the line of your melted straw, do not grab the pushrod cover barehanded after riding 20 miles, dummy took a pair of gloves off to do this too.
You are one of a minute few that I have ever even heard of adjustable's coming loose.
Span said last week he wont rage about adj again and now you opened a new can of worms. Gee Thanks. He will have to get wider doors for his house to get his head thru.

I agree his rant wasn't about them coming loose so much as the trouble with setting them, or need thereof. Going to loc tite the nuts tomorrow. Hope it doesn't happen again. I know it is rare to happen and I am not trying to start a major debate, just wanting to make people aware it can happen, and wanting to brag up Nebraska people for stopping to help.
sure does suck, thought not again.....should grow fingerprints back in a few weeks tho and 1/2 hour later on the road again. Still love that old beast it is one of the few things besides my family that makes me smile anymore, that and TD, seafoam and melted straws.....that kind of stuff and all the information i get keeps me here.
