Why 2 into 1
I am running a S&S 106 with big throttle body and high flow heads. It came with a V&H Big Shot that we left on it. Used a PCIII for fuel management. Took it to a Dyno in May and found it was running 85HP/96TQ with a very flat TQ curve. The A/F ratio was off the chart rich.
I picked up a D&D Fat Cat with small baffle on ebay for a couple hundred bucks. My mechanic installed the pipe and leaned out the PCIII as much as he could. Just changing the pipe and leaning it must have boosted the HP/TQ considerably because it acted like a new bike.
Subsequently, I've replaced the PC III with a TTS Mastertune and spent the money for a complete dyno tune. My HP/TQ went to 94/112 and pretty much kept the nice flat TQ curve. THe A/F ratio is spot on now.
The thing pulls like a monster and runs much, much smoother. Gas mileage went up a bit and I couldn't be happier. Consider this a strong recommend for a 2-1. I doubt I'll use anything but a 2-1 in the future unless I'm building a "look" rather than performance.

My 98 RK has Thunder Header 2-1 with a fakie on the left side-- it pulls like a raped ape.
