I'm guessing most of us have had cash in our pocket burning a hole and made mistakes. I think we're trying to help you avoid doing so. Get it out of your system some other how, build up your pot, wait until January, then spend a couple of months cleaning one up and upgrading it for next season.
There's a 98, 88ci Evo with 48,000, going asking at $6,900 in TN ... http://tricities.craigslist.org/mcd/4692399754.html ... which you'd still be able to sell after a year's riding. Or if you are into some Fugly cool that will actually increase in value ... a Shovelhead Tour Glide with only 4,000 miles! http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/4693740449.html (Interesting ... but not advised if all you want to do is ride!)
No, I appreciate all of y'all's insight, that's why I came here, to get kicked in the a$$ as well as led in the right direction. I sincerely thank each and every one of you.

Weird, this is the exact same post that Dun Roamin just posted, the pictures are in different orders though, gonna do some research, seems a little fishy though.

Edit: That tour glide is uglier than a mud fence!
Yea, just noticed that.. I suspect WNC means western North Carolina, the area code encompasses Ashville to Cherokee and more... If its legit, he's got it all over the region for exposure.. Good to be cautious with it though..

WNC is really close to tri cities area "Appalachia"....was there last week...
I'd say it looks like a very genuine bike, very re-sellable too. If I had the money in my hand, I'd go and look at it myself. I'd guess it was some older guy who owns it. It's of a good age and it's got a lot of extra chrome, looks very clean and corrosion free. It looks like a good safe deal to me. You might politely ask him if the photos are recent.
48,000s miles nothing to be worried about on a late Evo. Cross your fingers he's already stuck an EV-23 or 13 cam in it; if not, and the engine's completely stock, then even better. It would means it's been gently treated.
Those Fantail end cups can be swopped out for other designs if you don't like them.

Fair enough, I'll call him on lunch break today at 12 EST I'll keep you posted on the outcome of the call. Can I buy any end cups or are they style specific?
