here in Nebraska....65 today nice rode all afternoon, just went home and it is 25 degrees with 40 mph winds, can barely feel my fingers (didn't dress very good for cold) might be time for hibernation!
Yep. Gorgeous day here today. Got in a couple of very nice rides with two of my daughters.
Funny how things work out. In warmer months, I rarely if ever go for "pleasure rides". In the winter, I get out any chance I can and ride for its own sake.
I know it can snow there in Kiwi land but, Spanners, have you ever went out and played in it?
Never snows where I live, down south of the Manawatu it might snow, up on the high altitude desert road by Mt Ruapehu it will snow and anywhere on the South Island it will happen too but north of Ruapehu you might see snow once a century if you were lucky.
Played in plenty of snow back in the UK but not here.
Sunny and 76 here today. Great day for an annual Toys For Keys Kids Run. Great excuse to get out and a good cause. We tend to take for granted the fact that we can ride every day of the year, but only one road to ride on. Not a bad road though.

Spanners, I have always been intrigued by your home land.
So I did a little research and I see down hill skiing / snow boarding in the Mountians. Cool!
The Mountians look awesome! Is there the opportunity to ride in or through the Mountians? Like for instance, the Bear Tooth pass in Montana / Wyoming. (Just one of many here in the states.)

Is there a ferry between the north and the south?
Is the Burt Monroe Festival pretty cool or ???
Plenty of Mountain riding in the South Island, look up Arthur's Pass, Lewis Pass and Murchison area.
There are two ferry companies between the Islands, Interislander and Blue Bridge.
The Burt Monroe Festival is the Mutt's Nuts....always too busy in the day job to attend but one day.....
