go 10.5 wiseco there not really 10.5 in a totally stock motor with a ev27 there actually 9.6 .035 head gasket takes it to 9.8 and 77cc heads will put you at 10.5

True-true ...

77cc heads being, what, a .050" skim ... depending on how your head guy relieves the casting around the valves seats you might be able to afford more.

I had quite a lot taken off and some flame paths cut in, so I expect if you head guy does not, you'll need less of a skim though anything for 50 to 80 thou is a bit of a standard.

It makes a difference but how much more I can't say.

Hillside will chime in any minute & recommend a Woods 6 cam ...

10.5 is fine. Woods is better but not worth upgrading an Andrews for. Dynatek ignition and you're ready to rock. Just run premium gas afterwards...

.050 is way to much closer to .020 for 6cc
and don't just shave the heads have them cc'd
the set I just got back were stock took them to 72cc .041 off the front .034 off the rear. now they match

My 1994 Road King now has a Revolution Performance 85 inch kit with an S&S carburetor. I have 200 miles more to complete the break-in period. I will provide an update after that.

Here is an update to my last post. I finished with the break-in period of the Revolution Performance 85 inch kit. The engine runs smooth and I can feel a bit more power overall. Also, the S&S carb makes a big difference over the CV carb. Very happy that I had this upgrade installed.

Default 85"er

Glad to hear it's complete. Do you have more info as to whats inside it , cam, heads, pistons etc. Do you have any dyno numbers? Pics would be nice too.....

The Revolution Performance Evo 85” Big Bore Kit includes the domed pistons and cylinders. I also went with the S&S Super E carburetor. My mechanic suggests the next step will be a cam.

No dyno numbers yet. I will post pictures soon.

All of that effort on a "N- grind"? Were the base gaskets in good enough shape to re-use?
Seems almost like a step was skipped. But wtf do I know... some pics would be cool, Joe.

Thanks,
Tom

Wood 8
Our Stage II heads
Wiseco pistons
Mik, or S&S E
Supertrapp, T/header, Cycle Shack M pipes
Dyna ignition
93-95 hp and 93-95 ft/lbs, minimum, and have witnessed 100/100.
We've built that combo here now for almost 20 years.
