I may just go with head work and new pistons, it has the EV27 cam, would 10 to 1 be ok on the pistons or something less, like 9.5 or 9.75?
go 10.5 wiseco there not really 10.5 in a totally stock motor with a ev27 there actually 9.6 .035 head gasket takes it to 9.8 and 77cc heads will put you at 10.5

True-true ...
77cc heads being, what, a .050" skim ... depending on how your head guy relieves the casting around the valves seats you might be able to afford more.
I had quite a lot taken off and some flame paths cut in, so I expect if you head guy does not, you'll need less of a skim though anything for 50 to 80 thou is a bit of a standard.
It makes a difference but how much more I can't say.
Hillside will chime in any minute & recommend a Woods 6 cam ...

.050 is way to much closer to .020 for 6cc

My 1994 Road King now has a Revolution Performance 85 inch kit with an S&S carburetor. I have 200 miles more to complete the break-in period. I will provide an update after that.
Here is an update to my last post. I finished with the break-in period of the Revolution Performance 85 inch kit. The engine runs smooth and I can feel a bit more power overall. Also, the S&S carb makes a big difference over the CV carb. Very happy that I had this upgrade installed.
Glad to hear it's complete. Do you have more info as to whats inside it , cam, heads, pistons etc. Do you have any dyno numbers? Pics would be nice too.....

The Revolution Performance Evo 85 Big Bore Kit includes the domed pistons and cylinders. I also went with the S&S Super E carburetor. My mechanic suggests the next step will be a cam.
All of that effort on a "N- grind"? Were the base gaskets in good enough shape to re-use?
Seems almost like a step was skipped. But wtf do I know... some pics would be cool, Joe.
