Default Fxrt fairing and touring?

I was hoping there were some fxrt owners out there that could answer some questions for me.I'm looking at mounting an fxrt fairing on my Dyna and was wondering about how that fairing and lowers are for touring.
any insight you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I had an FXRT for 21 years and put more than 300,000 miles on it.
In my opinion the FXRT fairing is the best fairing that has ever been put on a motorcycle.
Lightweight, narrow and more aerodynamic than anything else Harley has ever done.
I'm getting ready to install one on my Dyna to go with the FXRT clamshell bags that I put on last spring.

You'll love this fairing.

I've never had lowers, and in the rain I get wet from the knees down only. As well as my hands and my face (a little, unless I duck). Being a frame mounted (fixed) fairing makes it solid as a rock in gusty conditions. Choose the right windshield for you to complete the package. Clearview still makes them, and their customer service is excellent.

It's a great faring and if you can score lowers you will have one of the driest, warmest bikes on the road. Also you can end up with a radio.

thanks for your feedback.when I bought my fxdxt I was looking for an fxrt.I love the suspension on my current bike and was hoping to have the best of both worlds.
I didn't want to drop the cash and all of the time to put it together only to find out that it was a poor decision.

I know everyone has there own idea of what they want. but why would you put a fairing that was voted the number one ugliest thing Harley ever produced on your nice looking ride?

besides the fact that he actually wants to tour with it, I guess he wants the "cali-punk" look. Seems like half the dyna's I've seen that are from California have an FXRT or similar fairing. definitely not my style.

I thought the Liberator (pre-FLT shark) was deemed the fugliest fairing?

I tend to put on a fair amount of miles and the only thing missing from my fxdxt was more coverage and a stereo. I think if they're done right they don't look bad at all.

I always thought that the FXRT fairing had the best lines of any fairing out there. I never liked them with the big goofy looking turn signals in them, but I removed them from my old RT the first time I had it painted.

Who voted them "The number one ugliest thing Harley ever produced"?
Did you guys take a vote at the annual horrible looking lame orange chopper club meeting?
