Build Thread: Cleaning up a 93 Fatboy
you may have seen my thread about picking this bike up.
synopsis: scored a 93 Fatboy from a dealership for $3,500. was a trade in with some recent work done to it. it actually runs great and has new tires. but the chrome is flaking off the wheels and fork legs. also needs a general detailing. there's also a small dent in the right tank i'll take care of.
I'm currently collecting the parts and just got the bike up on the lift. should start tearing it down this weekend.

guess I should have mentioned that. gonna replace the top end gaskets and repaint the jugs. polish some stock fork legs for it and re-coat the wheels. then get some vinyl wrap for the tank and new badges. other than that, just go through the whole bike and make it safe to ride. it doesn't need much.

bike looks good , i have a rear fat boy wheel it will need a cleaning been in storage for a few years , don;t think theres a tire on it ,I'am just south of Houston , also have a set of 5 gal tanks , need paint & clean out also been setting in storage

Been collecting parts and slowy working on it. Plan to get a lot done this weekend. But got the tail section done. Pulled the wheel, recoated it and got all the chrome cleaned up.

plasti dip. stuff works great. typically lasts 2 years on car wheels driven everyday. so it'll last really long time on the bike. and it just peels off if you want to change it. it'll really show progress on the front wheel. will post up when i get there. hopefully this weekend. plan to get a lot done.
