It would prolly be a good idea to do away with that tour glide fairing all together and put an electra glide fairing on your bike since it has a bigger headlight.... I happen to know where you could send your fairing and get an Electra glide fairing sent back to you...
well....ur right lots of options....one thing is important though....whats the highest watts on leds I can go with the electrical system on the Harley?
Sealed units with hi-tech stuff is the way to get best performance at present. As for wattage, there are two answers. Your stock bulbs are probably around 40/50watt, so any type of replacement bulb up to those figures will be fine. I would expect most LED lights will be much lower than that. For higher wattage lights simply add a relay, available from any auto parts store, and provide higher spec power wires in parallel to your current ones - they will only switch the relay.
You just don't understand the whole fixed fairing thing, do you? or the simple fact that 2 x 5.75 is greater than 7 x 1?
I fully understand it that's why it needs to be on my bike....I really wanted a road or tour glide but could not pass up the deal I got on my bike. It will be a tour/road glide one day.
I sold my ultra to get this! the tour glide feels lighter, goes better down the highway! plus its different! I found some nos black lower shrouds too I need to install....
When I put the LEDs on our bikes, HD was the only place you could get the 5.75" LED set. And it was HIGH DOLLAR. I've bought whole motorcycles cheaper than that headlight cost. Cars too, actually. I think there are other options today. Trucklite might even have some now.
That would be good. For bulbs, think about experimenting with some HID's. I recently bought a set for my RAV4 on amazon for $40. You can't even buy a good set of bulbs for that. Really, really bright. I think startup current might be high, but once running I think they draw about the same or a little less than a conventional bulb.
I just did the wifes car with hids...55w's! I had to run a separate relay and power to each ballast individually...kind of pain but they were drawing so much they kept tripping the whole system...
