the other day I when I was troubleshooting my starter problem, I had things loosened up before I pulled the primary back off. As I was checking the green wire, and the ground cable for good connections, I spotted something laying between the bendix and the tranny case. Thinking I could be on to the source of my problem, I got my flashlight on it but all I coud see was something silver...with threads. With the starter bolts out, I could pry it up just enough to go fishing with some long nose tweezers. Finally got ahold of it and got it out.
Turns out, it was a cobra snake head tire valve stem cap...obviously from the PO.
