What's the reason for not reusing the bolts on the stator ?

My first guess is thread stretch.
After saying that however I have known people to reuse them.

Mine were 10-24 x 1" and my experience tells me to not reuse the old ones. Makes one hell of a mess of the rotor and stator if one of them fails.

Just curious because I reused the old bolts last year when I upgraded to a 32amp kit that said not to use old bolts. Low torque and like new and used locktite of course, seemed pointless to go buy new ones. I Think they will be fine... Not sure what size.

I've read that it is specifically due to the factory screws coming with locktight applied. I reused mine after cleaning and applying blue locktight of course.

Locktite, The stuff that holds Harley's together!!!
I use both the blue 242 and the red 263. The green stuff I
only use for things I don't ever plan on taking apart.

You can reuse them if you clean all the old locking compound off and re-loctitie them.

No green is the strongest.
