I had one blow up on me in a 74 FL shovel. I have a lot more respect for batterys now...
I had one explode on my standby generator, the engine didn`t start when the power went out, so I opened the enclosure and tried to move the battery cable terminal, and the battery exploded, my ears were ringing for quite a while afterward.
Lucky for me the generator is inside a steel box enclosure so I didn`t get a snoot full of acid.
My hand hit the top of the inside of that container so hard I thought it was broken (it was ok).
I too learned a great deal of respect for batteries.
When I was a kid working at City Service my uncle would take the caps off short across + - with a big file and watch to see if any of the cells would boil, or would not boil don't remember to show if it had a dead cell.
Of course those were vented batteries and not agm.
In all honesty don't remember any bad effects.
Personally if the terminals are not fried I would run it.

Battery is toast, terminals to bad, spend another $40 and hard wire a trickle charger when you install the new battery, way easier than remove/ replace all the time.
He has a lot to lose...That battery can never be trusted to be safe.
What? If you put a few washers where needed and can tightened up the bolts, that battery will work as good as any battery can work. There nothing that says it won't. Seriously.,,

Just a freak chance. It's funny how things work. I decided to replace it. No sense in taking a chance and blowing my *** off while going down the road just to save a 100 bucks.......

only a guy that takes his bike to a mechanic for everything would make a stupid comment like that.,,,
You obviously do not know Dan.
Washering up would not work, you need a contact with the lead, otherwise it will fry between the copper anchor and the lead post going into the battery.
If you could mount on the top lug, or recast the lead around the post you might save the battery.
