Default Cylinder Stud Torque

Found this today and after reading a few threads it's never been answered. Here's the correct answer. 10 ft pounds

Well I looked today and searched on here. It was asked many times but no one ever answered. I figured it would help someone in the future.

FWIW engine studs are installed to a specific height.
5.67in to 5.77in.

I'm fairly certain that the 10 lbs torque setting you found applies to the case bolts.

Nope. It's the cylinder studs which is why I posted it and the image from the manual. Maybe yours are the older style without a shoulder. Mine have a shoulder and a recess where the shoulder makes contact with the case.

What year is your manual? If yours had the shoulder up from the factory then it's different. At some point they switched to shoulders and changed the instructions to shoulder down

Did they change to shoulder bolts for perfect jug alignment at some point? If so the gaskets must have changed also. And does that mean the bottom of the jugs would be opened to accept the shoulder, making all years NOT interchangeable?
