Dellorto DHLA40
Paid 50 for it, worth anything?
I have a pair of 40DHLA's on my shelf. I paid $106 for them, used, with a manifold that I sold for $100, leaving me six bucks in the pair. 2 40's are good for a 1.6L motor that is not tuned too much. At about 160HP, you probably need a pair of 45's, for example. A 40 on a Harley big twin is probably a tad on the small size even with the biggest chokes, but if set up right should provide good low end response.
Oh, and getting parts for them is a total biatch.
If it was mine, I'd ebay the whole thing. You'll probably get at least two bills out of it, maybe 3. Oh, and if you had to go buy what you have new, it would probably be closer to 5 or 6, just guessing, and maybe double that.

Back in the 1980s I bought a pair of those carbs new for my Chevette HS (dohc and 16 valves, 2.3 litres) and had it properly tuned on a rolling road, but the carbs were still in production back then.
It's complete with the rubber flanges, bracket (to support the carb) and the carb as well as aircleaner.
I like it but know I probably would leave it on the shelf looking cool so I'm game to sell it but I'd want top-dollar to be brutally honest and I can imagine that owuld put you off, knowing what I've paid for it.
But hey ho, every one needs a bit of luck now and then and this one might pay me some bike-bills so...
