but back to your original question id still have to say no on the flexable primer maybe a high surface build if there is any major imperfections in the plastic but if you think about how auto bumpers do have quite a bit of flex to them versus a 3/16" plus thick hardbag will not really flex enough at all for any kind of stress cracking to happen. Im not a full time body man but i do fill in sometimes in the paint shop at my work when the work slows in the diesel shop. So i guess take it for what its worth. D
Well that is interesting, and a new one for me, looks like smc plastic is a form of fiberglass, has to do something in the molding prosses.
And I think a different Resin is used from what I read. Either way the body man that did the repair assured me it was the best way to do the repair. He used 3m panel adhesive which I have used to fix ABS plastic some times in the past. He had some setting in his shop where it would have cost me 40 bucks minimum to get the small amount needed.

My wife and I are not chef's but we eat at home most of the time because we can out cook most any restaurant around here.
One other thing mentioned was the Temp variations around here expanding and contracting the plastic. Which here in W. Texas can be a lot

lol thanks i guess you could say that. Its not my area of expertice i guess is what im saying now if its a compression ignition engine thats where i shine and id have no problems being 100% confident on what i say, I just dont want to give any misleading advice but from the things ive picked up over the years i think youd be ok with what ive previously said on the matter. I can ask the paint shop manager on monday for some better insight on this as i would like to know 100% or sure as well. Now ya got my intrest perked wp.

On the 100% sure. Yup I can say that in some area's of work but have been studying a problem and had on someone outta blue ask " Have you tried this or looked here or Bill had a problem like this let's ask him."
