Need some mechanic help!
I'd read the FSM but I'm blind in 1 ear......
Don't mind me, just looking for a little laughter. They say it helps to make the world go round.....

You guys are busting his ***** for nothing. He asked a question in another forum and was sent here and told he'd get more help in the evo forum. He copy and pasted the same question here. He already got his answer in the other post and it was what he needed. Sometimes I feel like you guys are busting ***** for no reason. Read the FSM shouldn't ever be an answer. Sometimes it just doesn't make sense if you haven't done it before.
Well, I was able to get it done with the help of some advice on my post in the General Discussion area and figured I would post the steps here in case anyone else needs the info in the future.
1. Remove exhaust
2. Remove the banjo bolt at the rear of the master cylinder assembly (mine was a 3/8 star key socket/wrench)
3. Un-bend the tabs on the tab style lock washer and loosen (do not completely remove yet) large nut that secures the assembly to the mounting bracket
4. Remove clevis pin that attaches the rear brake pedal (on mine, I had to loosen the mounting bracket for my foot peg so I could rotate it out of the way to get the pin out).
5. Completely remove large mounting nut that you loosened earlier and the lock washer.
6. Slide entire master cylinder assembly out of the mounting bracket
7. Re-install banjo bolt into the end of the master cylinder assembly (you'll see why in a minute)
8. Carefully slide rubber dust boot out of the way
9. Thuroughly clean entire assembly of all dirt/debris so it doesn't get inside the assembly when you take it apart
10. Stand the assembly straight up and down on the end with the banjo bolt on your work bench, grasp the plastic cartridge body and firmly press down (towards the banjo bolt) until the cartridge body slides off
11. remove the O-rings that were covered by the cartridge body and replace them with the new O-rings that came in the replacement cartridge body kit
12. Line up the grooves on the new cartridge body (it only goes on 1 way) and slide it in place (this takes some pressure).
13. Now reverse steps to re-install on the bike
14. Fill up your rear brake resevoir and completely bleed the rear brakes of all air
15. Go riding and don't crash
16. Drink beer
Hope this helps someone else

Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not a true ball buster.....I am saying this with laughter not busting. He's doin fine. And I thought he did get legitimate answers. That's all. Glad you made Out ok. And welcome to the forum.....

No one "busted *****". Apparently no one here had experience with that part, so he got some light-hearted banter instead. And asking if the OP had read the FSM is the best place to start, making sure everyone is on the same page. For someone who has asked a hundred questions, you should know that.
