#1 - I hate any kind of instagasket type crap. If someone doesn't make a gasket, I will, if possible.
#2 - Are you kidding me? My Evo has enough leaks and you want me to add another one?
well i do it differently - in my shop we turn the fitting to 12 oclock and run the hose over the oil tank on a shovel - softail fxr and alike the dresser we run it up under the seat before running the hose on all of them back down and aim it away from the tire
the big power units we run it along the 2 into one exhaust as far as i can go and slice cut the hose to catch a sip
its what i do and have been doing it like this 25 years with the same customers and sometimes the same bikes - they stay cleaner and dryer and never seen aditional leaks or anything else for that matter
but you can do it anyway you chose it was asked what do you think

On the trapdoor I use Hylomar along with the gasket. I don`t think the sealant is needed to prevent leakage, but it makes it much easier to remove the old gasket on disassembly.
