Ride it until you need to do a top end. I rode mine for 10 years with a leaking base gasket.

What you are seeing is just a seep.
If you want to go ahead and do a top end gasket set.
You don't have to right now.

Just a thought .... are you using synthetic? If so you'll find that could be part of your "seeping". Also, EVO's are notorious for base gasket problems. It doesn't look that bad from the pictures. I highly recommend giving it a chance to warm up before taking off when the engine is cold. It's not a bad job to do if you're mechanically inclined.

Wipe it off and ride! That is not any sort of problem that needs attention now or probably for many years. Your later bike is much less likely to give base gasket problems than earlier Evos, so don't get taken in by a 'problem' that isn't yours!

Mine has a few bubbles at start up. Does not ooze oil and the bubbles go away after the cylinder gets warm. Was feeling guilty about not swapping the gaskets over the past winter. You guys are making me feel better....YD

MAYBE, just a thought, you could check your crankcase vent system to make sure all is well and no pressure building up. This will lessen the seepage.

The Evo section answers and repairs this problems all of the time and the answer is............This is a perfect time to install 9.5-1 pistons and a EV27, those little bubbles always excites "more power" caveman instincts of this section. I am not one of the power addicts of this section and you can trust me when the time comes
