Looking for ideas. Two questions
1) can I replace the brake light switch unit that in the brake line of the rear brake without draining the system? It's not working
2) I can't get any more height in the brake pedal and my foot won't fit under. I have to **** my foot sideways to ride. Looking for ideas. It's like it was designed wrong and offers no adjustment at all the rod is as short as it will go to make it fit. Won't go up or down.

As low as the switch is in the system if anything some fluid will come out.
That's better than air getting in.
Like TeeVee said get ready, loosen and unscrew old one out and screw new one in. Done such many times

Frankly it's good practice to flush the fluid every so often anyway, even if it's non-hygroscopic Dot 5. First thing I do when I buy my bikes is get fresh fluids including brake fluid.
On your brake pedal issue, it's hard to guess from the picture. You could get different forward controls or a smaller foot peg, or is it possible to make the brake rod longer to push the brake pedal further toward the rear of the bike?

I'll grab a new switch thanks. I can't get to the master cylinder without removing the exhaust would have been nice to realize this a week ago before it was back together.
As far as the brake rod, if I lengthen it it pushes the pedal up and hits the peg mount it's up all the way as it is. I can't make it shorter either it has zero adjustment, not that I would want it lower than my foot it would never work. I can move it about 1/8".

Yes I thought it was dirty terminals too. It comes on weak with pressure and if I jump it the brake turns on nice and bright.

Sounds like someone put on a low profile brake pedal (like I did).
On mine the stock brake pedal was way up and I didn't like putting my foot up that high to get to it.
If you want I can look and see if I still have my stock one and if you want it you can have it.

Sounds like someone put on a low profile brake pedal (like I did).
On mine the stock brake pedal was way up and I didn't like putting my foot up that high to get to it.
If you want I can look and see if I still have my stock one and if you want it you can have it.

I'm thinking you don't want your foot UNDER the brake pedal, should rest to the right of it or in front but not on it. Sometimes you have to make your own comfort as I did with mine. I purchased three pairs of foot pegs, large for me,smaller for passenger and another passenger for shifter and brake, couldn't be happier and they all match.
