Default Clutch hub help

Tearing down my 1989 FXRS-SP, trying to pull the clutch hub. I put a puller on it and it dosen't want to budge, being Aluminumin I don't want to pull to hard. Was woundering if anyone has any tricks to help with getting this hub off.

I have tried heat, but again I'm trying not to damage the hub, the rebuild is going to be expensive enough.

Also looking for a good place to get new tin (fenders, gas tank, and oil tank).

Thanks

Default RE: Clutch hub help

On my '89 I use a thick disk with holes in it to let all the clutch bolts slide thru and then tighten them down on the disk and the clutch hub.. The center of the disk has a long bolt that I tighten against the tranny shaft and the clutch hub "pops" off (It's on pretty tight). It is on there pretty tight and the tranny shaft has a key way in it as does the clutch hub. When you go to put it back together make damn sure the woodruff key sits perfrctly in the hub abd the shaft or it will crack the hub when you tighten it. I always use green loctite to set the key in the shaft and ensure that it does not move while installing the clutch hub.

Fenders and Tank available from J&P or any other big aftermarket company. Oil tank will be tough, that'll be ebay, craigs list, searching independent shops etc...

Make sure you have the inner snap ring removed.
