Default Coil question

I am elbow deep in my mmi to s&s conversion and the dyna coil I bought is too thick to fit into the coil bracket welded into the frame. Bending the tabs of the coil bracket out will still not let it fit in far enough to get the bolts in. Is it safe to file some of the plastic off of the coil where it fits into bracket? I should mention that I am working on a '98 ultra

Safe? It won't kill you. I'd say give it a try. If you see wire, you went too far. Worse case, you can get a different coil that fits or go back to the original coil.

took a flat file to the top of the Dyna coil and took off just enough to get it to fit in the bracket that is welded to the frame. All is well.
