Just picked up a '98 Springer w/ 36,000 on her. Bike's in perfect shape & the guy was sooooooooooo proud of showing & telling me he used Mobil ! synthetic in the engine. Now, there are no weeps, no smoke, bike runs good. I've run dino in every evo I've owned. Can/should I switch to dino at this point or is the bike set in her ways by now?

 

You can switch if you want it doesn't matter.

 

If he was using **** oil I would say switch, conduct an experiment and keep using mobile just keep in mind that with those miles it will start to leak eventually regardless.

 

If every Evo leaks with synthetic and it's not recommended to be used in Evos I would tend to believe the seller is telling you a bullshit story because everyone even non gear heads know the name Mobil 1 synthetic. If I was you I'd change the oil to whatever Evo compatible oil I was using in the past. I think you'll find leaks as soon as you change it and use synthetic, people lie especially when they want to take your money.
