Default Help with Speedometer Cable hookup

I purchased an 87 FLHS and the prior owner installed a different front wheel which I believe might be off a FL Touring bike. Problem is that there is not a notch in the rotor where the old speedometer cable would notch in to. Any thoughts on how I can get my speedometer connected? Old rotors on late model wheel? Thank you!

First of all, don't bother playing with the colored words, it's not working for you.
Remove the disc and use a drill press or dremel, or file to cut your slot

Does the disc rotor on the right side have the speedo notch? If it does just pull the wheel and switch left for right.

I am not even sure what you are talking about with the colored words so I don't think I bothered to begin with.

Thank you for the input on the disk. The other side definitely does not have the slot, so I will look into modifying the existing one so I can keep the spoke wheel.

I can see that but I am not sure even how to do that which is why I am saying I didn't bother with it. Is there a setting that I need to change or is this something that you manually have to do?

To be honest I don't know.
I have never tried to use colored words in a post.

So no luck with the OEM speedo cable install on the spoke rim. Spacer on cable will not fit inside the FL rim bearings. Will be going back to the stock rim so that I can have a working speedometer.
