Default Bike week evos

I spent the week at the so called Myrtle Beach bike week which seems more like Murrel's Inlet Bike Week. Normally I don't see that many EVOs out on the road but, I saw a whole bunch of EVOs at bike week.

My guess would be people want a motorcycle rather than an electrical being that needs to be tended to by dealer techs.

I didn't realize this bike week was still going on. I thought the city put an end to it a few years ago.

Not too late Ace, I'll leave now, can meet you this evening and we can head over tomorrow.

Funny how they cry discrimination, but have a "black" bike week, maybe I'm mistaken, and it means vivid black.

Yea, bike week wasn't exactly outlawed but, the city of South Myrtle Beach created strict ordinances and pushed them hard to make riding a bike through S. Myrtle virtually illegal. That was a few years ago. So, the event moved to Murrel's Inlet which has really been pretty "Harley Week" friendly. Also, Barefoot Landing up in North Myrtle was still bike week friendly. Over time South Myrtle has really softened to pretty much pre-anti-motorcycle status. A couple of things happened. The S. Myrtle Beach helmet law was ruled by the SC high courts to be illegal. A city cannot create a law that supersedes a state law. Also, the businesses were taking a beating bad from the loss of revenue. All of the business owners I have talked too love "Harley Week". Most of us are old farts who treat the wait staff good and tip well. Harley Week people bring a ton of cash to the restaurants, campgrounds, hotels, etc..

So, now you can stay at a hotel in South Myrtle and not have any issues at all. The main focus of the week is still in Murrel's Inlet and I don't see that changing. The Suck Bang Blow and the Beaver Bar are ground zero for Harley Week. Plus, there's lots of vendors, live music, parties, rides, etc.. This year was huge. I think MB Bike Week is back in full force. Motorcycle parking in Murrel's Inlet is a premium. At night the lots all get slammed full. There's a church down there where we always try to park: $2.00 all day.

I actually get tired of being down there. It's crowded, hot and dusty. It's fun for a while but, I've only done that like 100 times or more..

I don't want to slam S. Myrtle Beach. They had their reasons.
