Softail ignition switch
FYI don't buy a cheap one from the aftermarket shops.
I bought 2 and neither lasted more than 6 months.
Just bike the bullet and get a new OEM one. You will be much happier in the long run.
You know you can have a locksmith make you a key for way cheaper right??
Personally I don't use the ignition lock because I know it can be easily defeated with a large pair of channel locks.
A good padlock on the neck works way better than the POS ignition lock.IMO

But listen to texashillcountry, he's 100% right. Though my locksmith failed the first time, barrel keys are tough to make.
The second time I got stranded for a gummed up ignition switch, I paid attention to how they work when I took them apart.
I'm not going to say on the internet how to hot wire a harley, but suffice to say, ˝ wrench or pliers for the console bolt, remove the console and there's only three wires there. They are amazingly easy to hot wire. I never tried channel locks but I guess that's even easier.
A much better theft deterrent is your fork lock. I don't know if your bike has the hoops but if it does, the circle locks are a lot harder to get off, it's tough to get bolt cutters on them.
I don't even lock my ignition anymore, just my forks.

You just grab the switch and twist (type of key won't matter) and it will break the lock.
Yeah the fork locks is what I was talking about when I said the neck.
For some reason I couldn't think of the right name.
I completely agree with your last sentence.
