Default HD tool box

Was just given an old teardrop tool box with no key.
Anybody know where I can find a key?

Is it the barrel key? A locksmith can open that faster than with the actual key, then make a duplicate for you. The regular key type keys can be opened by a good locksmith and a key made.

Even if you have the correct key it may be tough to open, it's weathered. Lol. Mine match but are a pita to open up.
It could be a mailbox key. They're awfully small.

Just search for 'teardrop toolbox key', I found a set here in the UK, so they must be widely available over there! They are available with two pins on US Ebay.

The key for that box we have is just a flat stamping, the prongs are square in profile, not round.

Many on ebay, all the same.

I went through the same BS with my tool boxes. I ended up opening them with snap ring pliers. They can be a bear to open if they have not been opened in a long time. Spray some lube on the lock. Those keys shown in the above pic are available from Drag Specialties ,and I'm sure Ive seen them on JPs site too. I just keep forgetting to order the damn things. The snap ring pliers work perfect though, providing they have the proper size tips.
