National auction results show a Nightster in near showroom condition and under 10k miles has been bringing close to 6k. That said, with the season changing, dealers will be trying to buy that bike right now in the 45-5 range, if they want to make an offer at all. A dealer buying now knows he will have to winter with it.
So if your sporty is really nice and stock, it's probably worth wholesale what the big twin is worth retail. An even trade isn't a good deal for you, IMO.
Thanks, I will ask. I did read that the 1990 Electra's were carb except for the Ultra. Need to verify that source to. Anyway, either way I am going to do the deal love the Electra and potential. Really just needs a new a seat, I would think a low profile seat will look nice without a tour pack.
And Yep the dealer is going to deal for extra 200 plus their dealership fees of course. My Nightster has been a good bike around town. But anytime I take a long ride with friends I am the one having to take a break.. :-/
