Traildog, that bike looks great. And kudos to you for landing a supportive wife. That's rare and makes life so much better.

How's about giving us a detailed comparison to your old bike, good bad and otherwise?

Hey thanks. Yep, after church this morning, she said she was going to clean the house when we got home........we've been on the bike.........just sitting down for a snak at a place we've not tried before.

I really enjoyed my 1997 Heritage, but, this bike doesn't buzz the feet (a real problem for the wife with planters). But it DOES have a nice rumble on the road that you can definitely feel.

The cruise control is the BOMB. Just like my car...... The brakes are really smooth, but, the bumps are HARD. I'm going to check shock and tire pressure shortly.

The power....... No comparison there, but, I'm not sure Scarlett was ever totally dialed in.

So far, I'm loving this RK 103......

The bike has Rinehart true duals, A tuner, and an opened up breather with the factory cover. The shop said it would make a BIG difference in the engine temps. It is 80 something here with VERY high humidity. I was in stop and go traffic in Indy and didn't feel my nuts roasting, so, I guess it worked.

To keep this thread in the Evo section, lest some Mod decide to move it to a twinkie or (AHHHH) the Touring section, you can fix the loose saddle bag mountings on an Evo by pulling those twist lock things out and pitching them, then putting a 1/4"x20 bolt in (I use stainless Phillips head, but any will do) and make a plate with a nut welded on that wraps around the saddle bag mount to replace the little thin lock things. Did that a few years ago and have never had one come loose again.

This is great advice good Dr.. I'd had plans to do that to my Road King as well before I sold it, once I saw the youtube videos on how easy it is to remove the dzus fasteners the bikes come with from the outside, I figured I'd make it harder to steal mine so the thieves go to the next bike at the tavern.
