Default Crankcase breater options

I just picked up my 98 Ultra Classic and rode it home from Dallas (400 miles). Loved the bike but the crankcase breather set-up on it is making a damn mess on the right side. Do you guys have some good ideas on a better option?

Most plug the carb fitting and vent to atmosphere under the bike.

There's a lot to read on this if you do a search, a full oil tank will do this. Run it to the atmosphere with a filter and be selective on location as this will be the new location for a mess. Try running half quart down on oil, very helpful. There are aftermarket products that catch oil, canisters, check valve, ran one by Spyke for a season, it worked but sounds like a bad rod-knock at idle. Took that off, waste of $80.

I modified my mikuni breather to route the breather hose to it,close to the throttle body, always clean, it didn't have a spot for it because people reroute it anyway, but I like it there. I guess I'm one of the few that have a"grip"on it, so to speak. Make sure you have plenty of rise in the hose before you drop it back down to the ground or wherever you go with it.

What does putting rise in it do?

Makes it harder for the oil to get out.
